IOWA CITY, Iowa – Junior forward Ahmad Wagner has been granted his release from the Iowa Men’s Basketball program with the intention of exploring college football opportunities, according to an Iowa Basketball press release on Tuesday.

Wagner started 25 games over the past three seasons for Fran McCaffery’s team and received the team’s Most Improved Player award and the inaugural Kenny Arnold Hawkeye Spirit Award after his sophomore season in 2016-17.

A three-sport athlete at Wayne High School in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Wagner now seeks to make a return to football at another institution after completing the spring semester at Iowa. We at HH wish Ahmad the best of luck with his future endeavors and thank him for the contributions he made to the Hawkeyes.
