Women’s Hoops Preview Vs. Minnesota

Story by Ty Travis

Minneapolis, MN – The Iowa women’s basketball team takes on the Minnesota Golden Gophers today at 3:00 PM CST in Williams Arena.

The Hawkeyes are looking to turn around and get back on the winning track, before they host the 8th ranked Ohio State Buckeyes on Thursday.

We plan to see Megan Gustafson continue her dominance as Iowa’s double-double machine. (18 total on the season)

Minnesota’s Kenisha Bell (Guard) has had a consistent scoring year, she is averaging 19.3 PPG and ranks among the top 50 in the NCAA. Bell is also averaging 6.4 assists per game and ranks in the top 20 in the women’s NCAA.

Carlie Wagner, for the Gophers, will need to be contested from behind the arc, as she is averaging 3 three-pointers per game. (46th in the NCAA)

Smooth and smart passing continues to be the recipe for success for the Hawkeyes, as well as consistency in scoring from the guard positions.

Good luck ladies and Go Hawks!
