Record Shattering Night for Gustafson

Story by Levi Thompson

Altoona, IA – Megan Gustafson can do it all and her stats reflect that. Tonight she broke a nearly 30 year old record for points scored in a single season by a Hawkeye, held by Cindy Haugejorde.

Gustafson led the comeback charge for the Hawks who trailed by 10 in the 4th to Rutgers. The Hawkeyes ended up winning the game in OT for their 6th straight victory. Megan finished with 27 points and 14 rebounds and the record now stands at 698 points.

If that wasn’t enough, Megan also broke her own single season rebound record that she set last year. She came into the game 3 short of her record and she ended the game with 14. Iowa will finish their regular season against Indiana on Saturday at Carver Hawkeye Arena.
