Ankeny, Iowa – When Iowa center James Daniels announced that he would be entering the NFL draft a lot of people were surprised. Howeve, no one inside the Hawkeye football program was surprised. That’s because they knew first hand the type of player and young man they were dealing with. They knew he was ready to play at the NFL level, and it’s starting to sound like they knew exactly what they were talking about.
Daniels is now being projected as a possible first round draft pick. That’s crazy to think about when you consider the fact most people didn’t even think he was going to enter the draft this year. Social media is abuzz today with tweets discussing Daniels’ performance in some drills at the NFL combine for offensive lineman. Here are a few of the tweets we’ve seen thus far:

Way to go James! It’s awesome to see the former Hawkeye making a name for himself already. He’s a great young man who deserves every bit of his success.
Also worth noting… Saquon Barkley is a FREAK. He’s 233 lbs. He ran a 4.4 40 yard dash, and he bench pressed 225 lbs a whopping 29 times. For comparison purposes only, Akrum Wadley weighed in at 194 lbs, ran a 4.54, and did 12 reps of 225 lbs on the bench press. Now, us Hawkeye fans love us some Wadley, but that goes to show you how rare of a talent Barkley is.
