Des Moines, IA – Let’s Go Hawks! It’s gameday Hawk fans, and we have an excellent podcast for you all to listen to while you’re on your way to Iowa City or to help pass the time at home while waiting for kickoff. One of the best receivers in Hawkeye history, Quinn Early, joined Trent and I for this one.
Early played at Iowa under Hayden Fry from 1983-1987. He went on to play an impressive 12 years in the NFL (1988-1999). One thing you will quickly learn in our interview with Early is that he’s not your typical retired NFL veteran. His adventures didn’t stop when his football career ended and he’s now working as a stuntman in Hollywood.
In addition to his career as a Hollywood stuntman Quinn is also in the process of fulfilling a dream that his Mother, Dr. Ann Early, couldn’t quite finish before she passed away in 2013 after a battle with Dementia and Alzheimers. Quinn’s Mother wrote a book about the incredible story of their ancestor Sherrod Bryant, and he has since fulfilled her wish by having her book published. The book, titled Bryant Acres, is now available for sale. It is important to note that all proceeds from the book will be going towards helping to find a cure for Alzheimers.
The story of Sherrod Bryant is a fascinating. To learn more about the book visit the following website:
You can also grab yourself a copy of the book right HERE.
Lastly, be sure to stop by and give Quinn a follow on Twitter @quinnearly. He will be back in Iowa in November to do a book signing. We hope to welcome him back as a guest at that time.
That’s it for now. Special thanks to Quinn Early for joining us. Hope you enjoy episode #27 and as always, Go Hawks!
