Incoming! Hawkeye football lands 4* CB DJ Johnson

Story by Derek Pech

The Hawkeye football program received huge news this morning as four-star CB DJ Johnson out of North Central High School in Indianapolis announced his commitment to play for Iowa.

DJ’s announcement was one of the classiest I have ever seen. In a day and age where kids are trying to get as much attention as possible, DJ chose to make his announcement on his Mom’s birthday as a way of thanking her for everything she has done for him. Check it out:

Clearly this young man has a good head on his shoulders. He’s also one hell of a football player. He chose the Hawks over offers from programs like Notre Dame, Minnesota, and Indiana. DJ is a ballhawk as a CB, and if you watch his highlight tape below it becomes very clear that he doesn’t shy away from contact. He brings the heat on a consistent basis.

DJ is currently the Hawkeyes top rated recruit in the 2018 class. The Iowa football program has a strong history of producing elite CBs and DJ just became next in line.
