DE Jake Karchinksi Commits to Hawkeyes

Story by Derek Pech

Des Moines, Iowa – The University of Iowa football program maintained momentum on the recruiting trail when 6’5” 245 lb Jake Karchinksi announced his commitment a few minutes ago via Twitter:

Karchinksi is listed as a defensive end and will be a part of the Hawkeyes 2019 recruiting class. He is from De Pere, Wisconsin. It’s possible, if not probable, that Karchinksi will keep putting on weight and end up at the DT position for Iowa.

If Karchinski’s name sounds familiar it is because he’s the same kid whom Iowa State assistant coach Jim Hofher said “underwhelmed” him during a workout. You know what that means Hawk fans… can’t wait to see this young man wear a chip on his shoulder for the next couple years and then be an impact player during the annual in-state rivalry game.

One thing is for sure Jake… the Hawkeye family is happy to have you. Welcome aboard!
