Altoona, IA- A great start to the 2018 season for Iowa baseball. It was a slow start, with Toledo having leads of 2-0 and 3-1, all on unearned runs. Iowa was led offensively by Elion (3-4 run scored), Neustrom (2-4 HR 2 runs scored), and the hero Ben Norman with the walkoff two run single.
Starting pitcher Nick Allgeyer was solid with 5 innings and 3 unearned runs allowed. The bullpen pitched shutout ball with Grant Leonard earning the W.
The Hawkeyes will face Oakland tomorrow at 2 pm CT with Cole McDonald starting.
